Name: Ema
Age: 26
Contact:
Other Characters: Beleth Ashara
Interests: I like all the political stuff that's going on so far, though for Runa, I'd also like an exploration into the Avvar culture, the whole dealing with spirits in ways that the Chantry doesn't approve of. Maybe a little bit of culture clashing?

History
Runa was once the apprentice to the augur of Phoenix-Fire Hold. As all apprentices to the augurs do, Runa took a spirit into herself in order to be taught how to wield magic. The spirit that came was one of Valor, and it taught her how to wield her magic, both to aid her hold, and to fight in battle, for few things are more valiant than taking up arms to defend your home. Runa loved having the spirit within her, finding its company comforting, bolstering her to be more courageous. When the time came for Runa to release the spirit, she rebelled, refusing to part with Valor. She was exiled from her hold, and began wandering alone.
Eventually, she came to a different hold, and took an offering to the Thane, asking for guestwelcome to stay for a time. She did not reveal her exiled status, and was welcomed into the hold. She had only been planning on staying a brief period of time, when she met the apprentice augur for the clan, a woman named Nadja. The two fell in love, and Runa found herself staying longer and longer within the hold. However, she knew that her secret could only stay that for so long, so she revealed it to Nadja.
Rather than being horrified, Nadja agreed wholeheartedly with Runa. The other woman had already given up her own spirit teacher--one of the rare spirits of Hope. She was never the same after, and regretted this parting. Runa suggested that the two of them leave the hold, and search for Hope.
And so they stole away from the hold, wandering the Frostback mountains in search of a spirit of Hope. Hearing of the group of Avvar that had settled in the Fallow Mire, they traveled there in hopes that they could stay among their people, and that a more relaxed clan would be easier to hide among. To disguise the nature of their relationship, and cast off suspicion, they told the group that they were cousins traveling to see more of the Avvar clans, and lands of their people. The story was bought easily enough, and at first Runa was ecstatic at their stroke of good luck.
However, they learned that the reason this group was so lax was that their leader, Hand of Korth, was...kind of an idiot. At the reveal that the soldiers they'd been fighting weren't Tevinter, Runa expected that the matter would drop. Then the Inquisition soldiers got kidnapped, and Valor put its foot down. So once again, Runa and Nadja pulled up stakes and left. However, Runa came up with an idea--If Hope existed anywhere in Thedas, surely it would be with the Inquisition? So, they left to approach the Inquisition agents that came to claim their missing soldiers, to see if they could alley with the new group.
Personality
Runa is a force of nature unto herself, loud and unapologetic, and when she's directed at you, it can be overwhelming. Boisterous is a polite term for it, though Runa rarely engenders people into being polite around her. She's all extremes, her anger is boiling and her joy is boundless. Sometimes her emotions are even overwhelming for her, and her fights are one of the channels for all of this. She fights, or trains, until she's exhausted. Nadja can also calm her down, one of the few people who can get Runa to harness her emotions.
She is also irredeemably flighty. The Avvar don't have much of a hold on the idea of permanence, and Runa, who has abandoned all attempts to settle down, is even worse than most. Her only constants in her life are Valor and Nadja, and even then, Runa is a hopeless flirt with others around her. She loves Nadja with all her heart, and if the other woman protested, she would stop all attempts, but as long as Nadja is okay with it, she'll let her eyes and mouth wander.
Runa is driven by Valor, and exemplifies courage in battle. She isn't an idiot, and won't run headlong into fights she can't win, but what she thinks she can win is a wider margin than it really should be. Both her Avvar sensibilities and Valor give her an indomitable sense of honor, in regards to fighting and dealing with others. She detests trickery, and her own deception regarding her relationship to Nadja only sits with her because she fears that the truth would pull the woman she loves from her. Even then, she would never hold to the lie under oath or swearing to the truth.
Valor 'pings' her in regards to the feelings of weakness and fear of those around her. She strives to allay the fear of others and encourage them into bravery if possible. She sees it as as innate of a problem as them being physically wounded, and will do her best to soothe it. If the person is willfully behaving in an unchivalrous manner, and refuses correction, Runa will take it very personally. She usually claims to see the fear in other people's eyes, but that's a lie.
Despite estranging herself from the other Avvar, Runa is still deeply religious and tied to the culture. Having trained as an augur, she reads portents in everything around her. All events have some kind of meaning, and Runa tries to divine what the message is, and plan around what has been said. She also consults Valor, and other spirits, as they are all gods to her. She offers advice to everyone, even when they don't want it. Especially when they don't want it.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Basically, what are they best at, and what are they worst at? Where can they help and where will they be a liability? It is not necessary to pick a class or to provide lists of specific Dragon Age skills or skill trees. It's sufficient to give us a general idea of areas and level of ability but please make sure you cover any magical ability or significant skill/resource/connection you hope to rely on in-game.
Inventory
Please list any notable objects your character will be bringing with them.
Motivation
What brings your character to the Inquisition? This can be as brief as "he's got a sliver of weird magic in his hand he'd like the Inquisition to deal with," and shouldn't be more than 200 words.
SAMPLES
Please provide 2 samples. It doesn't matter if they're written or linked and we don't care if you prefer brackets or normal punctuation, but at least one must take place in the game world, and at least one must be a log rather than network tags (or their setting-appropriate equivalent). They can be of any length, as long as they provide a sense of your character's voice and internal narrative. If we feel they aren't sufficient, we'll ask you for more.
